UPDATE SHIPPING DELAYS & INSURANCE
With the increase in shipping demands and Covid-19 restrictions, FedEx is unable to guarantee that your ice cream arrives on the scheduled date. Because almost nothing is sadder than ruined ice cream, we've partnered with Route to offer insurance coverage for only $0.98 a package. If your shipment arrives compromised or later than expected, please just send a photo of the damaged product, and we will ship a brand new package on the next delivery date. With Route, we’ve got you (and your loved ones) covered! Just don’t forget to add the insurance coverage to your package before purchase.
HOW DO YOU SHIP?
We currently ship our ice creams throughout the continental United States via FedEx 2day & Overnight delivery. The ice cream pints are packed carefully inside an environmentally-friendly insulated box with dry ice to ensure your purchase arrives at its destination in perfect condition. Please note that dry ice is exceptionally cold (-109.3°F). With each box, we include specific instructions to provide for safe handling and disposal of any remaining dry ice.
WHEN WILL MY SHIPMENT ARRIVE?
We ship our ice cream orders out on Tuesdays & Wednesdays for Thursday or Friday arrival (next day or 2nd day). Orders must be placed before noon (12pm PST) on Monday & Tuesday to ship the same week. You can select your delivery date upon check-out.
HOW DO I KNOW WHEN MY PACKAGE WILL ARRIVE?
We make it super easy! When your order is ready to be picked up by FedEx, you'll receive an email with tracking information.
WHAT IF MY PACKAGE IS LATE?
While we will do everything we can to ensure your ice cream arrives on time, FedEx cannot guarantee on-time arrival due to the current Covid-19 restrictions and demands. WHAT IF I WANT TO SEND MULTIPLE SHIPMENTS?
We'd love to help! For orders of 5 shipments or more, simply shoot us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org, and our team will assist to make it easy peasy for you!
DOES SOMEONE NEED TO BE HOME TO RECEIVE THE ICE CREAM?
Nope. We've authorized FedEx to leave all packages at the shipping destination without a signature so as to avoid multiple delivery attempts → melted ice cream. Given our shipping boxes are insulated and contain dry ice, the ice cream should remain frozen inside the box for the remainder of the day in case it sits on the doorstep until the lucky recipient returns home. If you would like to require signature to accept the package, please reach out to us at email@example.com so that we can adjust these settings for your package.
CAN I SURPRISE A RECIPIENT?
Yes… but since you’re sending a perishable gift, you’ll want to make sure that the recipient is going to be home within 12 hours of receiving the package. Therefore, it’s essential you provide us with their/a phone number.
WHAT’S IN THE BOX?
Our beautifully custom-designed box includes environmentally-friendly insulation that disintegrates under hot water. The insulation is four-sided with a lid. When the box is opened, the recipient will see your gift card -- don’t forget to select this option and write what you’d like the note to say -- and the dry ice handling instructions + Smitten tips. Once the recipient lifts the lid of the insulation, the recipient will see the remaining dry ice and the fresh pints of ice cream. The dry ice is packed ON TOP of the pints, as the coolness of the dry ice sinks down to keep the pints cold. We don’t include payment information or receipt in the shipping
